Pack 612 is a family-centered program, and parent participation is an important part of making Cub Scouting successful. Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend Den and Pack meetings, outings, and activities with their Scouts and to take an active role in the life of the Pack.
There are many ways to help, and every contribution makes a difference. Parent involvement may include assisting with or leading an activity, helping with Den or Pack meetings, coordinating service projects, serving on a planning committee, helping with fundraising or product sales, providing food or supplies for an event, or volunteering at Pack activities. As Scouts grow older, especially during the Webelos and Arrow of Light years, parents can gradually encourage greater independence while continuing to support them along the way.
Pack 612 families are also responsible for keeping Pack dues current, completing any required youth protection or safety training, and providing the necessary medical forms for Scouts and participating family members before Pack outings.
Pack 612 uses Scoutbook to help families stay connected and to track each Scout’s advancement, attendance, awards, and other Pack information. Parents are encouraged to create a free Scoutbook account and use it to follow their Scout’s progress throughout the year.
Cub Scouting works best when families participate together. By helping, volunteering, and leading, our Pack families make it possible to provide meaningful adventures, strong relationships, and a great Scouting experience for every Scout.
