Cub Scouting is designed to provide Scouts with a wide variety of experiences throughout the year while keeping costs as reasonable as possible for families. Some expenses are paid directly to Scouting America, while others are covered through Pack 612 dues or paid separately when a family chooses to participate in a particular activity.
Annual costs for each Scout may include:
Scouting America Membership Dues – $135 annually
Paid directly to Scouting America online based on your Scout’s registration or renewal date.
Pack 612 Annual Dues – $80 per Scout
Families may pay the full $80 in the fall, or divide the dues into two payments:
$40 in September or when joining the Pack
$40 in January for the spring portion of the program year
Pack dues help fund many of the program expenses that allow Pack 612 to provide a fun, organized, and rewarding Cub Scout experience. Rather than asking families to pay separately for every small expense throughout the year, Pack dues help cover many of these costs, including:
Advancement awards, including belt loops and Webelos/AOL adventure pins
Rank badges and other advancement patches
Pack and activity patches
Scout recognition items and awards
Food and supplies for selected Pack campouts and events
Ceremony supplies and decorations, including advancement, crossover, Blue & Gold, and other Pack celebrations
Pinewood Deby race event, derby cars and prizes
Program materials and supplies used during Pack activities
Registered volunteer leader membership dues and Pack-related leader expenses
Pack dues help ensure that Scouts receive their earned recognition throughout the year and allow our volunteer leaders to plan quality activities without requiring families to make frequent small payments.
In addition to national registration and Pack dues, families should plan for:
Cub Scout uniform items
Personal camping and outdoor gear
Optional activity or outing fees when an event has costs that are not covered by Pack dues
Council or district events, camps, and special programs offered through the Daniel Boone Council
Any additional gear or supplies a family chooses to purchase for their Scout
Whenever possible, Pack 612 will communicate additional event costs in advance so families can decide which optional activities they would like to attend.
Scouting America membership dues are paid directly to Scouting America through the online registration or membership renewal process.
Pack 612 dues are paid directly to the Pack and are $80 annually per registered Scout, payable either in full in the fall or as two $40 payments in the fall and spring.
Your Pack dues directly support the Scouts and help Pack 612 continue providing adventures, advancement, recognition, service opportunities, and memorable experiences throughout the year.
Pack 612 dues are designed to cover the basic operating expenses of the Pack, including advancement awards, recognition items, program supplies, selected event expenses, and other costs necessary to provide a quality Cub Scout program. Fundraising allows us to go beyond those basic expenses and help support additional Pack activities, special events, camping opportunities, and other Scouting adventures throughout the year.
Pack 612 will offer families opportunities to participate in fundraising activities. While participation may vary by fundraiser, these programs can help offset some of the costs associated with Scouting for individual families.
One of these opportunities is the Camp Card fundraiser. Scouts who participate in Camp Card sales will have the opportunity to earn funds that may be used toward summer camp expenses or applied toward their annual Pack 612 dues of $80.
Fundraising is a great way for Scouts and families to help support the Pack while also reducing some of their own out-of-pocket Scouting expenses.
